Dom DeLuise, dies at 75

---Dom did movies like 'The Secret of NIMH' (voice of the crow jeremy), 'All Dogs Go To Heaven' (voice of the dog itchy), 'An American Tail' (the voice of the cat tiger), Robin Hood: Men In Tights, The Muppet Movie, Cannonball Run, Blazing Saddles, History of the World: Part 1, etc.---

Dom DeLuise, the portly actor-comedian whose affable nature made him a popular character actor for decades with movie and TV audiences as well as directors and fellow actors, has died. He was 75.

DeLuise died Monday night, son Michael DeLuise told KTLA-TV and radio station KNX on Tuesday. The comedian died in his sleep after a long illness. Calls to his agent were not immediately returned.

The actor, who loved to cook and eat almost as much as he enjoyed acting, also carved out a formidable second career later in life as a chef of fine cuisine. He authored two cookbooks and would appear often on morning TV shows to whip up his favorite recipes.

As an actor, he was incredibly prolific, appearing in scores of movies and TV shows, in Broadway plays and voicing characters for numerous cartoon shows.

Writer-director-actor Mel Brooks particularly admired DeLuise's talent for offbeat comedy and cast him in several of his films, including "The Twelve Chairs," "Blazing Saddles," "Silent Movie," "History of the World Part I" and "Robin Hood: Men in Tights." DeLuise was also the voice of Pizza the Hutt in Brooks' "Star Wars" parody, "Spaceballs."

The actor also appeared frequently in films opposite his friend Burt Reynolds. Among them, "The End," "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," 'Smokey and the Bandit II," "The Cannonball Run" and "Cannonball Run II."

Another actor-friend, Dean Martin, admired his comic abilities so much that he cast DeLuise as a regular on his 1960s comedy-variety show. In 1973, he starred in a situation comedy, "Lotsa Luck," but it proved to be short-lived.

Other TV credits included appearances on such shows as "The Munsters," "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.," "Burke's Law," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "Diagnosis Murder."

On Broadway, DeLuise appeared in Neil Simon's "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" and other plays.

Because of his passion for food, the actor battled obesity throughout much of his life, his weight reaching as much as 325 pounds at one point. For years, he resisted the efforts of family members and doctors who tried to put him on various diets. He finally agreed in 1993 when he needed hip replacement surgery and his doctor refused to perform it until he lost 100 pounds.

He and his family enrolled at the Duke University Diet and Fitness Center in Durham, N.C., and DeLuise lost enough weight for the surgery, although he gained some of it back afterward.

On the positive side, his love of food resulted in two successful cookbooks, 1988's "Eat This — It Will Make You Feel Better!" and 1997's "Eat This Too! It'll Also Make You Feel Good."

At his Pacific Palisades home, DeLuise often prepared feasts for family and friends. One lunch began with turkey soup and ended with strawberry shortcake. In between, were platters of beef filet, chicken breast and sausage, a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs and a saucer of lettuce.

He strongly resembled the famed chef Paul Prudhomme and joked in a 1987 Associated Press interview that he had posed as Prudhomme while visiting his New Orleans restaurant, K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen.

DeLuise was appearing on Broadway in "Here's Love" in the early 1960s when Garry Moore saw him and hired him to play the magician "Dominick the Great" on "The Garry Moore Show."

His appearances on the hit comedy-variety program brought offers from Hollywood, and DeLuise first came to the attention of movie-goers in "Fail Safe," a drama starring Henry Fonda. He followed with a comedy, "The Glass Bottom Boat," starring Doris Day, and from then on he alternated between films and television.

"I was making $7,000 a week — a lot of money back then — but I didn't even know I was rich," he recalled in 1994. "I was just having such a great time."

He was born Dominick DeLuise in New York City on Aug. 1, 1933, to Italian immigrants. His father, who spoke only Italian, was a garbage collector, and those humble beginnings stayed with him throughout his life.

"My dad knows everything there is to know about garbage," one of the actor's sons, David DeLuise, told The Associated Press in 2008. "He loves to pick up a broken chair and fix it."

DeLuise's introduction to acting came at age 8 when he played the title role of Peter Rabbit in a school play. He went on to graduate from New York City's famed School of Performing Arts in Manhattan.

For five years, he sought work in theater or television with little luck. He finally decided to enroll at Tufts College and study biology, with the aim of becoming a teacher.

Acting called him back, however, and he found work at the Cleveland Playhouse, appearing in stage productions that ranged from comedies such as "Kiss Me Kate" to Shakespeare's "Hamlet."

"I worked two years solidly on plays and moving furniture and painting scenery and playing parts," he remarked in a 2006 interview. "It was quite an amazing learning place for me."

While working in summer stock in Provincetown, Mass., he met a beautiful young actress, Carol Arthur, and they were soon married.

The couple's three sons, Peter, Michael and David, all became actors and all appeared with their father in the 1990s TV series "SeaQuestDSV," in which Peter and Michael were regulars.

Weeeee....?

Well first full day back from the first two nights of filming for the movie I'm doing work on and it's nice. Though I'm still tired a bit...27 hours in two days and my sleep schedule getting flipped around wasn't exactly easy but it was fun. So not bad for $250 or so, free food and not really doing much.

In other news got signed on to do another 23 days of shooting from May 11th to June 8th. So that should be pretty good. I mean I won't say no to another $2500 or so...in this economy especially. Other than that...not much is up. Have two weeks off to do things and then back at it for a bit.

veg and be weird now...more later.

...the phone interview went pretty well this morning. So I'm fairly confident that I'll be hearing from them tomorrow with a job offer. At this point I won't turn it down. Need the money and it's better than sitting around doing nothing all day for the most part. So here's to hoping that everything gets worked out. ^.^

Yep that's right, may actually get a pretty sweet gig. Sure it's call center work, but I don't have to leave my house. $10/hr to sit at home and help people, can't really complain about that now can ya? Have the interview tomorrow morning over the phone...so we'll see how that goes.

Oh..and WHY THE FUCK IS IT SNOWING?!

Oh what fun!

"the sweeping change that this country demanded when it went to the polls in November."- Obama

Did he forget that less than one half of one half of the US population voted for him? Also less than one half of the other half DIDN'T vote for him. No one demanded anything. So blinded by the hatred of Bush people just voted against McCain without thinking. If sweeping change is insane spending, bigger government and more impedance on people's lives.....I don't even think that the people who voted for him knew what they were getting....way to go!

Let the Taxing Begin!

I'm sitting here with a HUGE "I told you so" grin on my face. Why? Because I was right as well as many others about Obama. Sure it's not a "direct" tax but he's gonna tax the fuck out of everything that we use!

To fund SCHIP (which I do think is a good idea btw) the tobacco I buy is going to be going from $10.99 to OVER $40 a bag. .70 cents per pack and $7 per carton in PA. How the fuck is that fair? Not to mention the state of Pennsylvania may be raising it's own tax. In New York City come April 1st a carton of cigarettes is going be around $180! Our yearly costs right now for cigarettes are $960 a year....starting April 1st it'll go up to $2400!!!! That's almost 3 times as much...all the other taxes proposed could put companies out of business or force them to leave the country for better financial prospects...so again..more cost on the consumer, possible job loss and possible company closure. Sure it's only one industry but I doubt the Fed is going to bail out the tobacco companies. When they make smokers such a minority I'm sure they'll go after alcohol or something else that effects even more people...

Now his new budget has him putting more taxes on oil and energy companies. Who do you think pays that? The company? Ha! We do and we all know it. Just recently a .68cent per gallon tax was shot down, but something tells me that they'll go higher and it won't go away since it's money going to the federal government. It's already gone up in a couple of states overnight by at least .17cents. Thought ya were pissed about $4.00 a gallon gas? Get ready for it to go even higher if Obama has his way. Electric bills are also going to go up here so yea, chew on that for a few. You aren't being taxed directly...but will pay for it somehow.

with that my personal gas spending will go from $75 a month to $96 a month which makes it OVER $500 more a year (not counting longer trips)

So once again it's proven that while not trigger happy...Obama is spending happy and taxes WILL go up. Everyone warned about this...but so entranced by "tax cuts" on income tax blinded people. Now you get to save a whole $400 a year and probably will spend more than in energy costs making it all a moot point. Just on two things that I use every day under Obama I'm spending $1000 MORE just on gas and cigarettes than I did before (including the $400 in tax cuts from Obama that is) under Bush. That's just TWO things...I'm sure there will be more down the road as it all filters through the system. If Natural Gas taxes go up...then we're all screwed...could be that someone like myself is spending $2-3,000 more a year. That $400 is such a help! Not...

Let's not forget that he's also going to INCREASE the debt by 1.75 TRILLION this year ALONE! We're already broke where the hell is this money coming from? Scrores of people are saying this isn't going to work...but for those that haven't seen it yet..here's a little breakdown:

5 years of war in Iraq=850 Billion
36 Days of Obama Spending Plans=3.5 TRILLION!

So..who's better looking now? The war in Iraq AND the bank bailout/TARP is only HALF of what Obama has already spent. There's no garauntee any of this is going to work. Hell even Obama admits it may not. Sheesh....hope ya'll are happy.

And for the record...if McCain/Palin did this shit if they were elected...I'd be just as pissed.

Obama...Bush...Obama...Bush...Obama...Bush...Obama...Bush...

Obushma? Obupelorema?

I've been reading...yes I know that's dangerous, but I have been. In light of this latest "stimulus" package that just passed I figured I might as well read on up on where my tax money is going. Figure it's only right to do it. In doing so I realized a couple of things. Democrats need to stop blaming Republicans and Republicans need to stop blaming Democrats. EVERYONE in Congress and the past three (including Obama) presidents should all be taken out back and beaten with a switch.

Clinton allowed for the legislation housing market collapse and the congress at the time passed the stuff too so they're to blame on that. Bush ended up spending waaaaay too much on a war in Iraq that seemed like a good idea but the focus should've been in Afghanistan more. Bush also allowed Congress to get away with $700billion to bail out the banks. Obama is already guilty of the same old politics and is already spending waaaay too much in a month! $787billion to "stimulate" something or other. I'm not sure what exactly it's going to do because I don't have a masters degree in Washington Bullshit. That and 1087 pages is a lot to get through...even if I did understand it all.

Congress right now rushed through this process...less than a month? Are you fucking serious? For what? More debt and a $400 check? At least Bush despite his screw ups gave us $600! Dem's complained that "what is $11 dollars extra a week gonna do?" so now Repubs are saying what is $7.60 gonna do? Really...if ya can't take what ya dish out...DON'T SAY IT or quit...we could all be so helpful. And yes, that's what the $400 equates to per week....maybe with the other things in the bill it comes to about $13 a week...wow! Such a stimulus! Both plans were idiotic.

I mean what does $450million for the CDC or $600million for the cable converters or several of the other things that are for research and other such nonsense have to do with the economy? Couldn't those programs have waited a month or so? Why not focus on the problem and not every other small thing? One problem at a time...this just adds more from what I see. The US Government AND a majority of the people are OVER SPENDING.

Both administrations have just spent twice the amount of what the ENTIRETY of WWII cost the US in a few months. That's deplorable. Neither thought anything through...they just rushed and we're all paying for it. Did they forget that the US doesn't have that much money and we've had to borrow money constantly from other countries? I mean come on here...this is just insane.

It's no secret that I don't like Obama, but so far I'm just not impressed. He just wanted it done, didn't care who did it or what any of the opposition said. That opposition represents 58million voters out there that DIDN'T vote for him. Any President that preaches transparency and bi-partisanship and then tells people "I won, do what I want" (paraphrasing there) should be beaten.

Bush spent too much on the war...$10billion a month. Obama will end up spending the same if not more in Afghanistan. (based on his own plan) So who's right there? Eh, tough to say...besides does anyone know if that $10billion included both fronts as in Iraq and Afghanistan? I'm not sure since no one has really said anything on that one. So either way it's a stuck position but only time will tell if it was smartly spent or not on either count.

Congress voted themselves a raise already under Obama...which really doesn't mean much since they always do that. Ok, so it was petty cash but it's double what the average salary in PA is for god's sake! Government spending money, voting raises, buying new planes ect...when they're telling us not to spend and that we're all doomed?! Please...the entirety of Washington is OUT OF TOUCH. Dem's, Republicans, those crazy Green Party people...the whole lot of them!

The point of this is that no single issue is the problem...the problem is GOVERNMENT. What the US Government has turned into is a joke. There was a time when the loser of the presidential race was named the VP. Why? Balance...there is no balance to anything anymore. They get what they want. Something this altering to the landscape of the US should've been brought to the people. A 2/3 majority vote by the ENTIRE country. Hell people could've e-mailed the votes in if they wanted to probably. So again, remember....we're all to blame for this mess. Can't blame Bush, can't blame Obama or any one party individually. EVERYONE (or damn near) that's been voted into Washington over the past 16 years (maybe more) has fucked us all while they raise their pay, fly around and live on our dollar with no worries about their future while the rest of us are stuck with the bill. We've just spent an extra 2/3 of the Federal Budget in 6 months...yea that's gonna fix what again?

Hopefully this works, I don't know if it will but something says it won't to me. When it doesn't I hope to god that the American people realize that we've all been had. Screw the politics, screw the ideology....unless the people take back America and make Washington realize that it's not entitled and it WORKS FOR US! If that doesn't happen in some manner...I'm afraid that we've all screwed ourselves.

Just remember we're spending $91,045,500 a YEAR on these assholes. (based on the average salary alone...doesn't include medical, retirements, petty cash, kick backs, travel, limo service, or anything else) The number is probably much higher if I included other things in there. If you add in the petty cash thing they just voted that's another $50million of our money...for what? Does anyone think it's actually gonna go to their constituents? Maybe some of it but not all of it...and let's not forget all the staff they have.

Oh yea...one more thing...those people that bought things they couldn't afford. Drove up their debt to try and keep up with the Jones'....FUCK YOU! You screwed us just as much as those assholes in Washington.

Again, I'm trying to be as non-partisan as possible with this. I'm not angry at any one side more than the next...the whole thing just disgusts me. Both parties have done some things in the past few years that are just amazingly absurd. And despite that statement it's obvious that at the moment, Obama does NOT equal change...since this kinda stuff is nothing new, it's old hat. The thing that will make or break is presidency is based off old ideas. Old ideas that failed miserably at that. So here's to hoping that he reads the whole thing through himself and understands just what he's about to do to all of us...because if he just signs it and doesn't or just skims it...he's just as much to fault as everyone else in the LaLa Land that is Washington, D.C.

If it works...I'll say "Hey, nice job" if it doesn't...expect the heat on a few Democrats that rushed this through. It's only fair trade since I'm not overly happy with the Republicans for what they did on the $700billion last year and I'll be the first to say that too.

Wicked Faire '09! (updated!)

Yep it's fast approaching us again and this time Carrie/Shae and I are up to no good as usual. What's that mean? Simple really...we're getting a whole mess of rooms. Looking at a suite plus 3 more. Why? We like space and causing chaos damnit!

So...who wants to go, who needs a room and who doesn't mind sharing with some of the biggest crazies in the world?

As of right now the room folks are looking like Shae, Nightshade, Christine, Tim, Kate, Digi and myself. So that leaves plenty of space for folks. The breakdown is as follows:

3 beds open as well as floor space in the suite and other rooms. So that's room for a good few folks. 6 bed spots and probably about 8 floor spots.

Any takers out there? We of course will have massive amounts of booze and food on hand as always. Not to mention the K&S parties which are usually down right bizarre.

Before you ask the event is Feb 20th-22nd in Whippany NJ at the Hanover Marriot. Rooms are going fast so if you want to hang with the crazies that take over the event every year....this is your chance. Speak now or we'll hunt you down. ~.^

***UPDATE***
So right now we have LESS SPACE! That's right...TWO spaces were taken up in the past hour or so here.
List looks like this:
Shaelyn/Zhen
Kalum/Ki/Kitsune Hazard
Nightshade
Christine
Tim
Kate
Kieffer
Digi

With a possible list of
Jess
Nicolia
Soriena
Silverfoot
James

...but today my Grandma, Eva Devine died at the age of 94. It was early in the morning so she most likely went in her sleep in the study of my mothers home in Jersey. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this kinda thing...I was close with her when I was a kid and then really wasn't all that close after that. I guess it was during high school that we grew apart, but either way I just wanted to write this down for my own record of things.

Now we wait and see...

...if Obama can actually do anything he said. I'll be waiting at the beach to see if he's gonna stop the oceans from rising and be the first give him bandaids to "heal the planet".

Most of you know that I'm not an Obama supporter. I hope that he doesn't screw this up. Some of the things he's said and wants to do scare the crap out of me. Let's hope that he doesn't do what he's told people. If he does...the 55%+ of America that voted for him thinking that he's some kind of savior...you've doomed America far worse than anyone could imagine. So with that I hope that what I think is going to happen doesn't...

Spreading the wealth, getting rid of coal, taxing gas more, not caring about energy costs, not wanting nuclear, pro-union, pro more welfare...welcome to the USSA. I think the worst travesty of this whole thing is that many people voted based on race. They were black, he was black...they don't care about the issues...they just cared about that.

If things go the way that I fear they may....I'll be in Japan.

30 Days of Mayhem - Update

30 Days of Mayhem - Update Well there's only 5 nights left and I know I haven't kept up the end of the bargain to blog every night. Why? It's just too hard to do without having my own computer, that and being tired and what not just has thrown a loop in things. So I'll try to catch up if I can this week but I'm making no promises here. I really wanted to get this thing done but fate conspired against me it seems.

No clue what night it is tonight exactly but it should be interesting after last nights rain and slowness. I have a feeling we're going to get hammered....

Anyway...I'm off to get something to eat and then get my butt moving again.

Scare House on Travel Channel!

Yea, I know. I'm a shameless whore of a promoter at times but this one is rather cool actually. The haunted house I've been blogging about (the few days I missed are up btw...I just back dated them to make more sense of the matter) where Carrie and I work is going to be featured in a couple of weeks on The Travel Channel's show America's Scariest Halloween Attractions 3. Before you ask, no we're not in it...sadly. Yet another reason we should've been there from the beginning but oh well. You all will get to see the great folks we work for and see the haunt for yourselves. The info is as follows from the official posting on the Scare House MySpace page:

The ScareHouse will be featured on AMERICA'S SCARIEST HALLOWEEN ATTRACTIONS 3 ... a one-hour special for The Travel Channel that features the best haunted house attractions in America!

Footage for the segment was shot earlier this month, and features an in-depth look inside our attraction.

Set your dvr's and vcr's and look for AMERICA'S SCARIEST HALLOWEEN ATTRACTIONS 3 on The Travel Channel, airing at the following times:

10/26 10p Eastern Time
10/29 9pm and 1a
10/31 4pm

So there ya have it.
30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 14

(almost all caught up with last weekends blog posts! Yay! My laptop died so that's why I've been a bit delayed with the posting of these things)

Ah, Night 14. So with saying goodbye to Fil and Jess and having stayed up until about 5am hanging out with Carrie's cousin April and a friend of hers we're back at it. So after another 5:45 arrival like yesterday the world has come full circle and again we have more scene changes! Ah, the beauty of coming into a place 2 weeks into the season. So after mulling around a bit and getting a kick ass parking spot I must say...we got placed. Carried was going to be a "floater" of sorts so she got to do some of the stuff I did on the first night as well as heckle people through a wall....which for her was probably somewhat enjoyable. I mean making fun people is such a good thing to do, getting paid for it is even better, right? As for myself, I found out that I was back in the country scene. Ah such a nice place it is. Kind of looks like something out of Texas Chainsaw and got quite a few people making Hills Have Eyes references.

I set myself up at the back of the scene and the other three people were scattered about the rest of the place. Oh so many scares and people falling down. Was a good night I must say. However, the flannel was definitely hot and it did take me a couple of groups to really get into a good groove back there. Throughout the night I did get a couple of funny comments though.....I called Kid Rock and then the ultimate.....Ted Nugent. Being referenced to The Nuge is never a bad thing....never.

Carrie ended up being all over the place...she was in the cave, faces and behind the walls. I'm not sure if she was anywhere else though. I'll have to ask her and maybe make an update in a later post.

During the first break that I took around 930 or so the line was wrapped all the way around the building again which raised a few flags with some people and Carrie included in that. Mainly since her day job is starting in the morning. Seeing that long line made things a little huffy with some of the cast but nothing major. I did manage to time my last break perfectly so that the end of the night I was outside smoking a cigarette and the last group was about half way through the house...was nice to not have to run back real quick.

So it was about 11:30 and as we turned in our costumes and took make-up off we ended up getting a nice surprise, a $25 gift certificate to Penn Brewery. Won't say no to that at all....ended up getting home around 1am after stopping to get a little something to eat since we were both hungry and after showering and passing out we both were welcoming the 3 nights off. Carrie especially....since she had to work during the day as well.

With that...here's to 3 days off and then back at it again. Hopefully this next weekend I'll be able to keep the posts close to being the day after. If not I'll just do it this way again.

So again...here's the tally for the randomness that goes on:
Haunts 86'd: 1 (bye bye Fright Farm)
Broken Props: 3 (bed, a bone, half of a scene's fencing)
Costumes Ditched: 1 (original prison costume)
Scenes Changed: 19 All in all it's been as follows:
Carrie: Coffin Girl, Exorcist, Cannibal, Dentist, Line Pacer, Drop Window, Morgue, Country, Faces, Cave, Behind the Walls
Me: Prison Scene, Cannibal Cage, Spine Pull, Cave, Faces, Chapel, Pitch Black Hall, Crazy Chef, Country
Bodily Injuries: Bruises (me...just lots of sore spots..even more now), Welts on knees (Carrie), Ankle Strain (Carrie)
1st Bloody Injury: Still Carrie! (we're not sure how this happened but I have a feeling it's from her having to be on her knees down at the Exorcist scene)

30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 13

30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 13 So one night down at the new haunt and a bunch more to go. Night 13 definitely brought back memories of working at Universal. The crowd was that insane and we had a line that ya wouldn't believe. Something to the tune of 4.5 hours or so. Groups were flying through the place all night long. Definitely was fun but even more tiring. Granted you don't feel the tired as much until the end of the night.

This time I ended up being in "Faces" for the whole night and Carrie got her shot at being in the country scene. Having to work a door and a drop window all night long for me was rough, but it definitely was fun...had people screaming by the bus load and Carrie had a blast heckling and just causing random chaos back with the boys that love all things hick. All in all it was definitely a trial of endurance and we both only got a couple of breaks throughout the night but well worth it. Even if we were exhausted by the time we got home. What time did we get out you ask? Oh it was somewhere around 1am or so which means we didn't get home til around 2am. Again the pizza was worth the wait and we were able to get through the night despite still getting over being sick.

The highlight of the night though was watching the guy that works the line chase after two girls from the park that's next to the haunt, through a parking lot and then across the street to the main parking lot that we use. Was definitely a classic moment and one not to soon forget.

Stick around and see what's going .. tomorrow night....last night of the weekend and then a few days off. (which I'm using to write these oddly enough...long story on that one)

So again...here's the tally for the randomness that goes on:
Haunts 86'd: 1 (bye bye Fright Farm)
Broken Props: 3 (bed, a bone, half of a scene's fencing)
Costumes Ditched: 1 (original prison costume)
Scenes Changed: 16 All in all it's been as follows:
Carrie: Coffin Girl, Exorcist, Cannibal, Dentist, Line Pacer, Drop Window, Morgue, Country
Me: Prison Scene, Cannibal Cage, Spine Pull, Cave, Faces, Chapel, Pitch Black Hall, Crazy Chef

30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 12

Well well well...here we are...it's night 12 and after missing a few due to sickness we're back at it. It's also almost a completely new season for us as we've switched the haunt that we're working. Fright Farm was a bit too much of an amateur night for us...so what do we do? We go to the best in the area and find ourselves with a new outlook on things. Scare House has been around for a while but this is only the 2nd year for them in the building that they're currently using. It's definitely an interesting one. Been around a while and has a lot of character to it. We definitely like that. We also like the fact that the owners of the place are actors and treat their people better than most people do by a long shot.

So with that business out of the way...where to begin...where to begin...Well after Fil and Jess stopping by for a couple of hours we headed out. Ended up getting there just as they opened at 7pm. We were told after all to get there about that time so all was well. To get us into the swing of things they had us working as "floaters" or "breakers" which is a pretty simple task really. It's also a pretty hectic way of doing things. Basically we have to do whatever part is thrown our way. Not an easy task but it can also be a lot of fun. So we spent the night running around like crazy filling in for people in various places. I was in the Hall of Nightmares for the night breaking folks and Carrie was in the Screamatorium. Some of the spot we were put in were: The Cave, Faces, Chapel, Swamp, Crazy Chef, Line Pacer for Screamatorium, Dentist, Morgue and I think one or two others. I forget all the ones that Carrie was in now (a side affect of delayed posting...more on that later). It wasn't too stressful a night for us but there was a nice long line that kept us until about 1am. At one point they shut it down so that we wouldn't be there til 4am. Nice of them.

After we got done and were out of make-up we had a bit of a meeting where folks told the good and bad of the night and then...FREE FOOD! Ah, how the simple things amuse me so. Either way it was a very nice thing that they had gotten pizza and provided soda and other things for us afterwards. Then again it's not like much was open at that point, but either way was nice to have to something after a long night like that.

Our overall impressions on the place are so far much much better than what we went through at Fright Farm. Looking back we should've come to Scare House from the beginning....our mistake but we know better for next year.

So again...here's the tally for the randomness that goes on:
Haunts 86'd: 1 (bye bye Fright Farm)
Broken Props: 3 (bed, a bone, half of a scene's fencing)
Costumes Ditched: 1 (original prison costume)
Scenes Changed: 15 All in all it's been as follows:
Carrie: Coffin Girl, Exorcist, Cannibal, Dentist, Line Pacer, Drop Window, Morgue
Me: Prison Scene, Cannibal Cage, Spine Pull, Cave, Faces, Chapel, Pitch Black Hall, Crazy Chef

30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 11

Yep, you guessed it. There's no Night 11 either, why? Simple really...we decided to give ourselves a night off after finding out that we've been hired at Scare House. Tomorrow night is the first night that we'll be undertaking the much better production and we'll see how it goes. Should be fun and we're hoping for a much better experience...which is pretty much a given from what we've seen so far.

So we'll see ya after tomorrow night for a post about the madness!

30 Nights of Mayhem - Night 10

There is no Night 10 either. Took the night off and considering that things have changed a good bit with where we're working the next entries for the rest of this string will be about Scare House and NOT Fright Farm. Interesting how things work isn't it?

Why the switch you ask? That's simple really. Much better treatment of the actors and a much more fun atmosphere to work in. So from here on out you'll be seeing posts about our time at Scare House, the 5 Haunted Attraction in the US!
